Adding a neon sign to your space is a stylish way to make a bold statement—whether it’s for your home, office, or business. But once you’ve got your perfect design, the next question is: how to hang a neon sign on the wall safely and securely? Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with this quick and easy step-by-step guide.
Step 1: Unbox and Inspect Your Neon Sign
Carefully unbox your neon sign and lay everything out. Check that your sign includes mounting hardware, power adapter, and screw caps—these cover the screws after installation for a clean, polished finish.
Step 2: Choose the Perfect Wall Spot
Pick a clean, dry area close to a power outlet. For the best visual effect, place the sign at eye level and in a spot where it’ll shine—literally. This is ideal for selfies, signage, or just setting the mood.
Step 3: Mark the Mounting Points
Hold the sign up to your desired spot and use a pencil to mark where the mounting holes on the acrylic backing align with the wall. Use a level to ensure everything is straight.
Step 4: Gather Your Tools
You’ll need:
- A level
- Pencil or measuring tape
- Power drill or screwdriver
- Wall plugs and screws (typically included in custom signs only )
- Screw caps (included in custom signs only)
- Optional: Command strips (for very light, temporary setups)
Step 5: Drill and Mount with Screw Caps
Drill small pilot holes into the wall where you’ve marked your mounting points. Insert the wall plugs to ensure a secure hold.
Now take the screw cap bases (the flat part with the hole in the center) and position them between the sign and the wall. Align the holes on the sign’s acrylic backing with the holes in the screw cap bases.
Using the provided screws, carefully secure the sign and screw cap bases into the wall plugs. Make sure everything is level and tight, but don’t overtighten—this could crack the acrylic.
Once your sign is firmly in place, take the screw cap covers and twist them onto the bases until secure. These caps hide the screws completely, giving your install a clean, professional finish.
Step 6: Plug It In and Light It Up
Add batteries to the remote (custom only), plug the adapter into your nearest outlet, power it on, and enjoy the glow! You’ve just given your space an instant upgrade with minimal effort.
